Service members gain many skills through military service. In addition to technical and nontechnical skills, they develop flexibility, leadership and teamwork. Much of the mastery-based training they acquire transfers easily to civilian work environments. More employers are recognizing the value of hiring a veteran. Employers report their veteran employees demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility, project follow-through, problem-solving skills, and work well under pressure.
